As many of you know, I am a student majoring in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. Well... this is finals week and I'm so excited to be nearing the finish line of another semester! Even though I'll start one of my summer classes next Monday :( I'm still anxious to get the summer season started! I LOVE summer, it is my favorite time of the year! I love grilling with family and friends, picking fresh vegetables from my garden, going fishing, or just laying out soaking up some sun! But, I have to say my favorite part of summer is the 4th of July!!! I've always loved this holiday! We always do so much with friends and family during the week of the 4th. My friend's dad is the pyrotechnician for the HUGE fireworks we have at Skyview Lake. The name of their organization is Big Bang Boom! They put on an AWESOME show!!! So since we're family friends we get front row VIP seats right by the fireworks! I'm tellin' ya were so close you can feel the heat!!! This is the highlight of the weekend for me! We also go to our local country radio station's outdoor concert! And of course this is also a great time especially when it's on my birthday (July 3rd). And needless to say there are countless barbecues during the week and maybe a fishing trip too!
Well I could go on and on about how much I love summer and especially the 4th of July, but now it's your turn. Good luck on your finals! I remember finals week - glad I don't have to do that anymore!! My fav. part about summer is swimming. I've always loved swimming, but in Wisconsin, you don't get much of an opportunity to do so. My parents have a pool and now that I live closer to them, I'll be there all summer long!

My favorite part of summer is swimming EVERY DAY! My daughter has CP and absolutely loves to swim! With us having a pool there is always something to do!
I am with you! I knew there was a reason I liked you so much! LOL My favorite season has ALWAYS been summer, and July 4th my favorite holiday! My birthday is July 5, so we always celebrated it on July 4 since that's when we always had a huge family picnic. When I was little, I thought all the fireworks were for my birthday! :)
My birthday is July 7 which always tends to fall during the Calgary Stampede. It is fun to go down to the stampede, watch the fireworks and go to lots of themed-events. That and it usually is finally hot out...cheers!
My favourite part of summer is the warmth, the sun, the flowers, the smell of fresh cut grass, the slow and easy days.... can't wait!

I love eating it, I love watching my kids eat, having a seed spitting contest (seeing who can spit the seed the furthest), I love making watermelon margarita's.........oh and how I love all the wonderful pictures I get of the kids enjoying this yummy treat!!!
My favorite part of summer is going on a family vacation to the ocean... it's so relaxing and beautiful and just fun to be together.

Summer...is super great! Summer loves, summer tans, summer trips.
One fun thing I have done for 30 years...my family has their very own 4th of July Parade...It's great. Back in the day, we'd either roller skate, march, bike ride, baton twirl...what ever was that summer's hit activity. We'd walk the dog, decorate our bikes, wear Red, White and Blue...flags, toss out candy to the old people who would come out to wave at us as we tugged along a band wagon. AKA...decorated Red Rider wagon with a large battery operated boombox blasting out marching songs. Don't try it with a cd player...not smooth enough! hehe.
We'd march up and down the center of the street, get back to our house and post the colors. When we'd get home, we'd hear my dad tell us a short blurb about why America was so special, say the pledge and then...POPCICLES for us and all the neighborhood kids who had participated in or just joined up during the parade!
Thanks for the chance to get a prize but my prize is always going to be my 4th of July memories. (PS...was my grandmother's bday too...so even more celebrating came later...not to mention fireworks...I don't think I can type that much in here. hehe.)

I think we are all glad to see warm weather....it's great to be outside....whether it's working in the yard or going for a leisurely walk. I enjoy having the grandkids spend time with us.....

Good Luck on your finals. My favorite part of summer is the July 4th Party at my house each year. we lounge in the pool and we get to see the fire works from there. this year I have a new addition..we put a hot tub in. I am sure that all my friends will enjoy this on the 4th

Hmmm...summer, I like that I can walk out the door w/o a jacket and with min foot wear! My favourite season is fall though...perfect temps and amazing colours!
As an early childhood teacher (Kindergarten) my favorite part of summer is that I get a break and enjoy some time off. Yes, I know that I am fortunate but I truly enjoy the time after a stressful year!! (which I am counting down the days- I'm down to 18 days!!!!!!!)

I live in a resort town right on Lake Erie and our summer starts off with a HUGE July 1st parade that starts with a Fish Tug race and ends with a band tatoo and firewords. We also have Fish Fest, concerts in the park every Sunday, Art in the Park in August and this year a huge Friday the 13th bikers day. The list goes on and on of all the festivities in my town in the summer. I also have a birthday at the end of July. There is just so much to do plus I love the sunshine & heat.
My favorite part of summer is getting time off!! My company has shutdown so we are forced to take a week then --- I definitely use it to my advantage. We have gone to Europe, Block Island, CA, Mexico.... I love to travel and see the world!!

It gets so hot here I would have to say swimming with my kids during the day. Or staying indoors and just spending quality time with them when it is close to 100 degrees. I really like the evenings outside with my family during the summer. It is not so hot and there is a certain smell that reminds me of my childhood (weird I know). They also have what we call heat lighting and it happens at night (only in the summer) it lights up the sky and I think that is pretty amazing.

My favorite part of summer time? I'd say its a toss-up between that super sweet smell of orange blossoms ... and the night sky when its lightening (heat lightening) but there's no rain or thunderstorms or clouds!)
My fav season is summer too. We have three girls & I get to spend a lot of time with them and we do a ton of fun things like swimming, camping, travelling, crafts (of course) and more. Thanks for the daisy treat!!

I love so many things about summer!
One of my favorite things about summer is that eerie stillness and silence before a thunderstorm has begun.
I also love lying out by the beach in the middle of the night and just stargazing.
Wow, so busy. My favorite part of the summer is watching the kids how at the 4-H County Fair in July. It also means summer is nearing an end and we have to get back to the routine of school.
My fav part of summer is not having to wear coats, suntans, watermelon, kids home from school, and vacations. YUMMY treats! Best of luck on your finals. That is what my DD wants to do.
Summer is my favorite as well.. Not just because it's my birthday, and ny hubby's as well as our anniversary all in the same week. You have Strawberry Shortcake with fresh picked strawberries, corn on the cob, grilling, swimming, gardening, flowers, birds chirping, vacations..I could go on for hours.. The best part is, everyone get's out more. Were such hermits in the winter.
My favourite part is swimming. Also I like lazy warm spent in our freetime-home.

We live by the sea in a lovely english town (very lucky) and we spend our summers (when the weather permits - which was only one weeks worth last year!!!) on the beach with the girls, 3 of them!! they love the beach
I love to grill out, too, especially since I am watching calories. Also, enjoy long, lazy drives into the mountain communities here in Idaho.
My favorite part about summer is picking blueberries and peaches with my children at u-pick-em orchards. We tried picking strawberries one summer but it was too much hard work! We eat whatever we can of the fruit fresh, give away some, and freeze the rest.

I live in Canada, so we don't have the 4th of July celebrations. July 1 is Canada day, but it's not as big as the 4th is for Americans. I love summer because I'm on holidays! I work at an elementary school as a Special Ed Asst. and have summers off with my kids. I enjoy having time to garden, do stuff with my kids, more 'me' time. Just a great time of year!

My favorite part of summer is spending some time at Clear Lake with my family. Or children are all grown up and all make an effort to spend some time there at the same time. I also love to go camping with my hubby.

The heat! The hotter the better! I also like it humid! I know I am wierd but I even use my car heater inteh summer and my hubby has heated seats and I used them last week and it was 86 in Chicago. Heat-anything but the MIami Heat-woo hoo-

Acutally though I really like August Long Weekend because my birthday usually falls somewhere on the weekend and we can celebrate with a camping trip or a trip to see some friends. I love to be with people so even a BBQ at home gets me happy!
I am like you! I love everything about summer. I would say the best part is being off work (I am a second grade teacher)! I also love swimming, catching up on reading, and of course STAMPING!!!!!
Okay so my favorite part of summer is the opportunity to be outside with family and friends. And the fireworks of course. It helps having friends in "high" places. Or just knowing the right people!!!
My favorite part of summer is spending time with family and friends. Picnicing, swimming, camping, and grilling. July 4th is mine and my husbands favorite holiday. That was one holiday he never missed, he always took leave to come home for that holiday.

My favorite part of summer is an annual trip to the Black Hills to visit grandparents. Our kids ride dirt bikes in the Black Hills Forest and we stay right outside of Custer State Park. This year will be the first time we are up there over the 4th of July for the fireworks over Mount Rushmore!

The BEST part of summer is waking up early and having there be silence as you watch the sun rise and it is a warm, wonderful feeling! OK, I love barbeques and gardening too and meeting up with friends for a mojito on the deck of a great waterside restaurant!
The best part of summer for me is the days going to the beach, or to my daughter's pool, taking two trips to Maine at least, no regimentation. Just do it as it comes.
Summer is wonderful, I love so many things about it....the sun, the lake by our house, the family get togethers, my son and hubby's birthdays (same day) are also in August so it is always fun to celebrate those. I also love summer footwear, flip flops are my favorite!!!

Good luck with your finals. My favorite part about summer is spending 4th of July cruiser camping on Lake George. We reserve a dock on one of our favorite islands and enjoy all of the luxuries of summer from the back of our boat! The best part is when our DS's spend a day enjoying the lake with us!
